Fulton Turkey Tail in Flint Ridge Flint

This Fulton Turkey Tail is handcrafted from Flint Ridge Flint, as identified by Joel Robinson. The broad blade displays an unusual palette of soft blue-gray hues accented by vibrant orange and deep red coloration that flow naturally across the stone. These contrasting colors create a dramatic visual effect while preserving the natural beauty that makes each piece unique.

The display base echoes the colors and textures of the spear point, creating a harmonious display that enhances the overall presentation. The polished surface reveals additional layers of color and patterning, making the base an integral part of the artwork.

Joel Robinson personally crafts each piece using traditional flintknapping techniques. Through carefully controlled percussion and pressure flaking, the stone is gradually refined into its final shape. The visible flake scars record each stage of the process and serve as a lasting reminder of the craftsmanship required to create such a delicate form.

The work is individually created rather than mass-produced. Each artwork develops naturally as the stone reveals its own colors, textures, and patterns, ensuring that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Collectors appreciate pieces such as this for their combination of artistic presentation and exceptional natural materials.
