This handcrafted matching knife set features two flintknapped Davis Creek Banded Obsidian blades paired with polished Picasso Marble handles. The natural translucent banding of the obsidian creates depth and visual movement, while the flowing veining of the Picasso Marble gives each handle its own distinctive character.
Designed as companion pieces, the larger knife measures approximately 16.5 inches long, while the smaller knife measures approximately 15 inches long. The set is presented on a custom Picasso Marble display stand, creating a unified presentation for a gallery, office, home or private collection.
Joel Robinson shaped each blade by hand using traditional flintknapping techniques. Carefully controlled percussion and pressure flaking formed the blades and produced the detailed flake patterns visible across their surfaces.
This matching set is individually crafted by Joel rather than mass-produced. Natural variations within the obsidian and marble ensure that this matching set is completely one of a kind.
Created as collectible display artwork, this set celebrates the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and the natural beauty of stone.
